Year End Praise Report Print E-mail

We are praising the Lord for all He has done for us this past year. Our call to this ministry began ten years ago, and it has been an awesome privilege to walk in Godís favor. We give Him thanks for all that happened in 2017, and look forward with excitement at what He has in store for the coming year.

Masterís Mind Ministry went from concept to legal entity in October 2007, and we became fully engaged in the work at the beginning of January 2008. Through the leading of the Spirit and the encouragement of friends, we stepped out in faith that God would be our Provider. He has been faithful.

As we prayed and planned for the coming year, Julie felt that it may be time for another Thank Offering Party this year. This has been confirmed, and we are excited about making plans for another celebration, perhaps early in the fall. For those who are new to this, a Thank Offering Party is a time to get together and praise the Lord. We will have great food and a time of worship and thanksgiving.

Our workload has been consistent. Masterís Mind Ministry has a staff of two, and an army of prayer warriors. Our first goal was to introduce healing prayer to people, so they could be transformed as God renewed their mind. It did not take long for our calendars to be filled with prayer appointments, and we realized we needed help. We began teaching workshops and retreats to equip the saints for prayer.

Last year we added to our focus the plan to mentor and disciple others into intercessory prayer. We have been getting reports from all over about how they are praying with their families and friends and seeing the miraculous happen. God is faithfully developing His servants.

Training Resources

We have published three books to help people learn about healing prayer and how to live a victorious life. Ancient Deceptions describes how easily people are infected with lies and how graciously God redeems them. Marriage Rx is a handbook for a godly marriage and has been used in marriage retreats and workshops. Heal Me, O Lord is an instruction manual for healing prayer and has been our most popular title so far. These books are great for helping people hold the territory, be reminded of what they have learned, and to teach the principles of God all over the world.

We taught a dozen lessons on healing prayer for Christ the King church in Mount Vernon, Washington and they were gracious enough to record our sessions and help us make them available through our website. You can watch these videos online for free by following the link for Healing Prayer Study Guide. It is best to use these videos in a small group and do the exercises to help activate the material. School of Prayer

Last summer we began a School of Prayer that meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30. Each week we talk about an aspect of healing prayer, and then get into groups to use the information. Intercessors are being trained there and building confidence in hearing from God and helping others be renewed in their minds. Please join us at Montavilla Baptist Church in Portland if you are able. You can find out more about the School of Prayer by going to the Resources, School of Prayer link. This gives access to all the material we present in the classroom, which you are welcome to download for free. Link

Retreats and Workshops

We continue to teach at retreats and workshops when invited by a church or sponsoring organization. Julie has taught workshops for Western Seminary of Portland and several local churches. Calvin has taught for several local churches and taught a workshop on how to overcome anger at Menís Roundup this past year. That has led to several other invitations to teach.

Last year Grace Community Church in Gresham invited us to teach the Healing Prayer Workshop to their Spanish speaking congregation. This is the class we have taught there a few other times, but it was great fun to work with translators and share the good news with our new friends in that community.

Kingdom Ministries

The Church of the Heart is a body of believers that come from many different denominations, congregations, and missions. We have enjoyed working with many other Christians in the greater-Portland area on advancing the Kingdom of Heaven. Once or twice a year we get together to pray and follow Godís leading. There is no legal or religious structure to these strategic alliances, other than the Holy Spirit.

Out of this group we have partnered with Dave and Cheryl Goetchius as they have opened their home for fulltime ministry. The Portland Hope House is in full swing, offering family-style living for ten people that are being set free from addictions. The power of God to renew minds and transform lives is evident on a daily basis in that wonderful and energetic household.

Sanctuary Inn is just over a year old, and in the past twelve months God has provided this ministry with a location and incredible favor. They are located in Welches, Oregon in a retreat setting, and they provide care to missionaries and global workers. These servants of God are on the front lines for evangelism and spreading the good news, and it is no surprise that they are also often under attack. This home away from home is a place for them to receive healing and be restored to their calling. The testimonies of Godís favor through this ministry are awesome.

Abide Ministries continues to cover the Portland area with prayer on a monthly basis, and offers a time for like-minded Christians to come together to be nourished and encouraged for the work God has given them. Representatives come from many different churches and fellowships.

Looking Ahead

We have nearly finished our next book, which should be published in February or March. It builds on the information in Heal Me, O Lord by giving examples and instruction on the observed patterns and strategies for healing prayer. Over the past ten years we have noticed common symptoms and root causes for some issues. This book is written to share that experience with other intercessors to increase their confidence in praying with others.

Our schedule is filling up with opportunities to introduce the power of God through prayer to churches and groups in the Pacific Northwest. We anticipate continuing to expand the circle of influence as God opens the door.

God has provided for us financially through a solid group of supporters. We are not anxious about what we will eat or what we will wear, because God has proven over and over that He provides more than enough. The great thing about this way of ministry is that we can pray with anyone that asks and teach wherever we are invited.

If you are one of those supporters, I wish I could effectively share with you how people respond when we say: ďThereís no charge. We donít charge people to pray with them. God takes care of us.Ē Some are relieved, some are surprised, and many are able to hear from God because of your help. Thank you.
