The first Biblical mention of pain is in the description of the curse of sin (Genesis 3). How do you explain the association between pain and sin? What relief is there for mankind? What relief is there specifically for children of God? Is pain ever good? What practical advice can you give a believer or non-believer about pain?

Jesus said that His followers have to deny themselves and take up a cross (Matthew 10:38), but He also invited His followers to put on an easy yoke (Matthew 11:29-30). How do you “take up a cross?” What effect does that have on your life? How do you put on a yoke? What effect does that have on your life? How do you reconcile these two ideas?

In Galatians 5:25 Paul states that there is no law against the fruit of the Spirit. What law is Paul referring to? What kinds of things can be under the law? What things are exempt from the law? Why is someone tempted to live under the law? How does one break free from law-based relating?
