Is it okay to have toys?

There was a bumper sticker many years ago that averred: “The one with the most toys wins.”  How should Christ followers respond to that statement?  What “toys” are appropriate in your life?  By what standard do you measure their worth?  How have you made an idol of an object?  How have you benefited by a similar object?  What caution or encouragement would you share with a young believer regarding these things?

How does one enter into God’s rest?

Hebrews 4 shares the promise of His rest and invites believers to enter into it, instead of failing to enter because of disobedience.  What does it mean to rest in terms of today?  What benefits does one receive from this kind of resting?  How does this compare to the yoke in Jesus’ word picture found in Matthew 11?  What will you obey to enter into His rest?

What do you want in a wingman?

There are some groups that promote the idea of an accountability partner and Jesus demonstrated and commanded discipleship.  How is a mentor like a wingman?  What do you expect from peers?  What are the key character traits of a good wingman?  How can you establish a relationship with that ideal person?  What must be done to maintain this relationship?
