There are four woes in Luke 6:24-27: woe to the rich, woe to the full, woe to the happy, and woe to those spoken well of.  What did Jesus mean by these warnings?  In what ways are you at risk?  What can you do to arrange your life to receive blessings instead of woes?  How are you helping others to avoid these warnings?

How can you be a champion of forgiveness?

When a person holds an offense against another it acts as poison to them, bringing death and destruction.  What gets in the way of forgiveness? How effective are you at helping someone choose to forgive?  How have you modeled forgiving to your circle of influence?  What are the most effective communication techniques you’ve found?  What happens to the person that chooses to forgive?

What does it take to have the heart of an evangelist?

Jesus told us to make disciples in all nations (Matthew 28:19), and promised that we would be His witnesses to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).  How well are you fulfilling this role of evangelist?  What do you feel is your personal responsibility in this area? What is the driving force of an evangelist?  How did Jesus feel toward the lost, and how to we recapture that same feeling?  What would you need to improve your ability to make disciples and be a witness? Can a Calvinist be an evangelist (bonus question)?

Jesus demonstrated perfect humbleness as described in Philippians 2.  What do you understand to be the difference between humbleness and meekness?  How did Jesus model being humble?  What was the secret to His balance of humbleness, authority and power?  How does the Spirit-filled Christian demonstrate humbleness?  What tempts you to lose this balance?  Why does God prefer us to be humble?

Jesus said that His followers would do greater works (John 14:12) and that the least in the Kingdom would be greater than John the Baptist (Matthew 11:11).  What does Jesus measure to determine greater and lesser?  What did He do to demonstrate this way of evaluation?  How does the world operate regarding valuation?  How should we live based on this truth?

We know that we have whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, and according to the will of God.  How are you guided in your prayer life? How do you know the general and peculiar will of God in any situation?  How do you pray when you aren’t sure of God’s will?  What is your response when a prayer strategy seems ludicrous or impossible?  What happens in your relationship with God when things are tough to understand?
