We talked about our “great cloud of witnesses” and how they increase our faith. What tangible testimonies do you hold on to? Whose faith story sticks out to you the most in this time of life? How do you collect good faith accounts for current or future use? Are you more encouraged by your own faith story or that of someone else? Where do you share your tangible testimonies with others?

Hebrews 12:1 says: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses …” What are the characteristics of a great witness? How do you find situational witnesses, for such things as dealing with adversity, or challenge, or determination? How do you build confidence in the Word of God through witnesses? What are you doing in your life to be a witness for others? How would you like to impact your children, or spiritual children? How must your life change to improve your ability to bring a clear message to others?

We know that Jesus could not do miracles in Nazareth because of their unbelief, and that often He told people that their faith had made them well. How do you define faith? What causes unbelief? When it comes to healing, for yourself or a friend, how do you hold onto your faith when all evidence is contrary to healing? When should a person accept their condition rather than contend for healing? Who defines healing, and what is your advice to those young in the faith?

An orphan mentality is a frame of reference in which a person feels they do not belong in a family or group, and that they must protect and provide for themselves. What do you understand about belonging from the Bible? What scripture(s) do you claim to overcome orphan feelings? How do you live with the knowledge that you are part of something special? Who do you rely on for protection and provision? What role do you play in helping others overcome this way of thinking?
