A good man provides an inheritance for his children’s children, and a spiritual man gives a spiritual legacy to them. What does a spiritual inheritance look like? How does an heir receive the rights that are available? What are ways you invest in your future generations? How do you pass the inheritance along? How can you remind yourself of the eternal values? Give one practical example of making a spiritual investment.

Everywhere we look, we see the forces of evil taking territory and enslaving people. What is your attitude about this struggle between good and evil? How are Christians supposed to respond to the darkness? What role are you called to play? How do you fulfill the instruction of Eph 5:11 to separate yourself from works of darkness and instead expose them? What does it mean to speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15)? How do you distinguish between fighting for God versus fighting for your rights?

Numbers 9:17-23 describes the guidance of the Israelites in the wilderness by the cloud that appeared over the tabernacle. How do you hear from the Lord about whether to go or stay? What tools are at your disposal to “walk by the Spirit”? The Lord led the Israelites in and through the wilderness, so how does He lead you? What attitude do you take regarding being led? What tempts you to ignore or disobey the Lord’s leading? What practical methods have you implemented to follow the Lord?

It says in Hosea 10:12 that we are to break up our fallow ground to sow seeds of righteousness. What attitude does it take for you to do this plowing? What are some practical ways you can follow this command? What tools are useful in your life for this purpose? How do you know your “soil” is ready? How does Jeremiah 4:3-4 help guide you? What results have you seen from breaking up your fallow ground in the past?

God is exceptional, and His relationship with you is personal. Ask Him how He really feels about you. Did He give you a picture or feeling to convey His thoughts? Did He call to your mind a scripture or word? What does His answer mean to you? How do you share the truth of your relationship with others? How long has He felt this way toward you?

In Luke 4:24-27, Jesus gives examples of God’s favor being given to certain individuals and seemingly withheld from others. What is God’s standard for fairness? How does that influence your thoughts about the way things should work on earth? What do you understand about the specific examples Jesus used, the widow and Naaman, and why did that offend everyone in the synagogue? Science follows the “law of large numbers” but Jesus said “narrow is the gate”, how do you explain a God of exceptions?

According to Romans 12:2 we are transformed by the renewal of our mind. What is the “new” that changes a mind? Where does it come from? How is it received? What role does God play in mind renewal? What role does the person play in their mind renewal? Give an example of mind renewal in your life or the life of someone around you. How did you know transformation had occurred? What is the difference between mind renewal and brain washing? How can you become more open to personal mind renewal?

How do you distinguish between the Biblical terms of slave, servant, and bondservant? What did Jesus mean about relationship when He said you are not a servant (John 15:15)? How should you pursue relationship with Him in this condition? What gets in your way of being a friend to Jesus? What must a narcissist do to become a bondservant? To surrender is to give up, but to submit is to “come under”, so how well do you submit?

Psalm 16:11 says that in the presence of the LORD there is fullness of joy, and John 15:11 says that the previous words of Jesus are given so our joy will be full. How would you describe this fullness? What role does hope play in joy? What is your best strategy to experience joy in the present? How do you build your expectation of joy for the future? What robs your joy, and how do you defeat that?
