Intercession: Harmonious Prayer

Discussion topic for October 1, 2010.

The Holy Spirit led us to pray for sister Mary last week, specifically that a spirit of fear would not be able to stay in that family.  God answered that prayer by confirming her cancer-free liver.  What will the Spirit lead us to pray this week?  Matthew 18:19-20: “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.  For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.”

  1. Here’s my summary of our discussion.

We began with praise reports, including the supernatural answer to prayer last week. God has been at work in our lives, and we acknowledge Him in all things.

This morning we were led to pray for courage in tough economic times. The request is for each of us, as individuals, to experience confidence in God as our Provider. David shared an inspiration through prayer that these tough times provide freedom to follow God.

Our harmonious prayer (see Matthew 18:19-20) was an increased closeness to God and a strengthening of our relationship with Him.

Watch this week as He fulfills our request of identifying areas where self-defense separates us from God, and where faith beyond fear draws us closer.
