{"id":218,"date":"2010-09-17T09:46:17","date_gmt":"2010-09-17T16:46:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mastersmindministry.org\/focus\/?p=218"},"modified":"2010-09-17T09:46:17","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T16:46:17","slug":"how-can-we-intercede-to-hear-from-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mastersmindministry.org\/focus\/how-can-we-intercede-to-hear-from-god\/","title":{"rendered":"How can we intercede to hear from God?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Discussion topic for September 24, 2010.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Intercessory prayer is where the Holy Spirit has the intercessor praying God\u2019s will into a situation so God is released to do here on this earth what He wants to do.\u00a0 We will practice intercessory prayer as a team, listening to the Holy Spirit and hearing from the Lord to guide our prayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principles for Effective Intercession<a href=\"#_ftn1\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Praise God for who He is.\u00a0 God\u2019s power is especially released      through worshipful song.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your heart is clean before God by giving      the Holy Spirit time to convict should you have any unconfessed sin.<\/li>\n<li>Acknowledge that you can\u2019t really pray effectively      without the Holy Spirit\u2019s enabling.<\/li>\n<li>Deal aggressively with the enemy.\u00a0 Come against him in the all-powerful      name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the sword of the Spirit \u2013 the Word      of God.<\/li>\n<li>Die to your own imaginations, desires and burdens for      what you feel you should pray.<\/li>\n<li>Praise God now in faith for the remarkable prayer      time you\u2019re going to have.<\/li>\n<li>Wait before God in silent expectancy, listening for      His direction.<\/li>\n<li>In obedience and faith, take action on what God brings      to your mind, believing.<\/li>\n<li>Have your Bible with you should God want to give you      direction or confirmation through His Word.<\/li>\n<li>When God ceases to bring things to your mind for      which to pray, finish by praising and thanking Him for what He has done,      reminding yourself that \u201c\u2026from Him and through Him and to Him are all      things.\u00a0 To Him be the glory      forever!
